Cotton Bowl Stadium

All is not Quiet on New Year's Day!

The best stadium anywhere, with natural grass to play on, and let's keep pushing for that dome!!

First opened in 1932, the Cotton Bowl Stadium was originally known as "Fair Park Bowl", due to its being located in Fair Park, where Dallas, Texas holds its State Fair. The natural grass playing area has seen many greats grace its surface over the decades, and capacity crowds of almost 70,000 people have made the occasion a memorable date in the college football calendar. The stadium has been used for a variety of other events, such as concerts, where a capacity greater than 80,000 may easily occur. The Cotton Bowl has served as the home of the annual Cotton Bowl Classic college football bowl game for nearly 80 years, but the game will move to the Dallas Cowboys new Stadium on New Year's Day 2010. The Cowboys relationship with the bowl is not a new thing;
the Cotton Bowl served as home when the Cowboys hosted the Green Bay Packers for the 1966 NFL championship, and is as familiar to local Texans as the Cowboys own stadium.
